Hop to it!

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend, whatever your plans may be!

I will be spending a lot of time with my friend Violetta, a Courtesan:

I'm playing in the Opera Tampa production of La Traviata, which starts rehearsals this weekend.   I enjoy playing one or two operas per year, but I really admire those musicians who play it all the time-- compared to regular symphony orchestra work, opera is longer, more tiring, and much more difficult .  But it's fun to do it every once in a while.  I've played this opera several times before.  (SPOILER ALERT:  Violetta, the main character, dies in the end.  Big surprise.)

On a more seasonal note, maybe some of you have seen this before. It's the Cutest Easter Craft Ever!

You can find the directions here

Also, I'm nearly done with the T-shirt quilt!  It just needs a binding and then I'll be able to show you.  I also have a new sort of scrappy quilt top that's nearly done, so stay tuned for upcoming projects!

  2. Love the yo yo eggs. I played the violin as a child but I remember NOTHING. I have two violins I bought a couple of years ago just to try to learn the basics. Everyone in my family is musical but ME, even my kids play instruments. Oh well, I bought a tape called teach yourself violin. I tried it two night ago... i made a sound come out of it...LOL! That was a big accomplishment. It was easier to do than the didgeridoo... Now to actually make a tune.. now THAT would be something!!!
