Package Day

Package Day, as you know, is not just ANY package.  It's from Fabric.com, one of my favorite sources of fabric.  I had a birthday discount coupon valid for this month (I had a birthday a few weeks ago, I'm 29 YET AGAIN) so I went ahead and placed an order.  As always, free shipping and quick delivery.

I find this fabric terribly exciting.  It's "Big Poppy", designed by Laura Gunn for Michael Miller fabrics.

And big means BIG.  This is one of the largest scale florals I've ever seen.

I'm going to do an applique quilt with large and small circles, which seems like a perfect way to showcase this fabric.  And it's been quite a while since I've done an applique project, so I'm looking forward to getting started.

Here are a few other fabrics from the same collection.

A few more to go with everything.

The polka dot fabric below is a miss.  It looks ok in this picture, but in person it's WAY too pink to go in this quilt.  That's alright though, it's never a bad thing to have polka dots on my stash shelf!

The poppy fabric is also available in this color palette, called "Spice".
