A New Baby Quilt

I saw this Michael Miller fabric a few months back and just knew I was going to have to make a baby quilt out of it:

It's called Megatropolis.  It's a little difficult to find, but a search on Etsy yielded a few results (here they are if you want to buy some of your own.)

I wanted to keep the pieces large to preserve the unique quality of the fabric.  So I just did offset rectangles (8 x 23") paired with 8" squares.

I put 2" strips between the columns
The red polka dot will be the back.

Also newly completed:  these Autumn Placemats.  I saw a woman walking around the fabric store with the bolt of this fabric tucked under her arm, and stalked her all the way to the cutting table to make sure I got some as well!  It's "Autumn Medley" by Martha Negley for Rowan Fabrics, available here

  1. Your baby quilt is cute. Haven't seen it around our area yet.
