A complete T shirt quilt top

I've reached the first milestone in a series of custom orders that have come my way recently.

The first T shirt quilt top is complete!

The shirts are all from the customer's family reunion/vacations since 1999.

Since the reunions have all been on St. Simon's Island (in N. Florida), the "Salt Air" fabric collection from Moda seemed particularly appropriate for this project.

Those soft teal blues and greens, with touches of red and yellow just LOOK like a beach vacation!
I bought the fat quarter set of this collection from Southern Fabric on Etsy.

A good thing to remember when making this type of quilt:  you don't have to use just 1 T shirt per block.

My customer requested including Bible verses that were on the sleeves of some of the shirts also.  So they got a block of their own.

I'd love to take credit for the quilt pattern, but it's actually a free pattern from the generous folks at AllPeopleQuilt.com.  Click here for the pattern.
