Finished Scrap Quilt

I finished the twin size scrap quilt, and I'm pleased with how it came out.  Although as is always the case with quilts, I'm convinced that I have MORE fabric now than when I started it, even though I made the quilt to use up scraps.

  It's 72 x 90, well within the boundaries of a twin size.

The patterns are so busy, it's hard to see the quilting.  It's just a grid pattern of straight lines in the pieced part of the quilt, straight line "framing" in the orange inner border, and free motion stipple around the outer border.

Lavender paisley on the back, and you can see I did a scrap binding as well, totally appropriate for a scrap quilt, I think!

This picture shows the quilting a little better, too.

  1. Came over from the Glorious Appliqué blog to enjoy yours. Cool quilts and I like your Xmas stockings. I played violin through college so I love the combination of music and quilting. If I had heard Stephan Grapelli's music at the time, I would've stayed in music...such is life.

  4. I just got boxes of fabric from my great grandmother. I want to make her a scrap quilt from all her fabric. Yours is beautiful! I am new to this quilting thing, can I ask what size of squares you used in making this quilt?
