T Shirt Quilt Progress

You'll recall from this post that I took on an ENORMOUS custom t shirt quilt order last fall.  I've been steadily working on it ever since, block by block.

Here they are laid out on my Design Floor.  There are 25 blocks, and the blocks are 15 1/2" square.

Some of them were "event" shirts, so I let the event dictate the design of the block, like this one.  Note the applique pumpkin in the lower right corner, and the fun skeleton fabric around the edge.

I thought the clock fabric was the perfect border for this one, and there's a little clock applique as well.

And here's a little joke (although we might be the only ones who ever get it!)  I absolutely HAD to put "Peace Love Kappa" next to "You've got to scalp'em Seminoles!"  I just love contrary and ironic humor.
I think that Peace block is my favorite of all of them!

  1. I am always amazed with T-shirt quilts! I've never tried to make one mostly because I can feel my frustration level increasing at the thought alone of working with that kind of fabric. I do so admire people who make them, and make them well!
